Reporting to the Corporate Sales Manager, the Custom Solutions Engineer (CSE) will be a key player in shaping innovative ferrite products for customers. From the first interaction through to production and beyond, the CSE will collaborate with clients to understand their technical needs, offer expert recommendations, and guide them towards optimal, achievable solutions.  They will be pivotal in developing pricing, and ensuring seamless communication between the customer, our sales team, and internal departments.  This role also includes staying ahead of market trends and contributing to the development of cutting-edge, custom ferrite products.

 

Days and Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring new designs are manufacturable, aligned with goals, and lead to successful outcomes.
  • Become a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them toward the best technical solutions or quickly identifying when our products may not be the right fit.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, prototype shop, electrical lab, and inspection teams to deliver solutions and determine cost structures for custom products.
  • Partner with Area Sales Managers to support quoting and drive the sales process.
  • Occasionally travel to visit customers, attend trade conferences and shows, offering technical support and identifying emerging market opportunities for new products.
  • Contribute to customer relationship management (CRM) for accurate record-keeping and ongoing support.
  • Other non-essential duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Follow all relevant Quality and / or Environmental standards to which Fair Rite is certified.
  • Follow all O.S.H.A. standards and the F/R Safety and Health Policy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering - or relevant business experience

Preferred Education / Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering or a related field with a 5+ years of direct customer facing experience in the electronics industy

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • CAD software: AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  •  Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes, including common engineering concepts, practices and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of production employees
  • Ability to operate ERP and MRP system effectively
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Advanced PC, Excel and Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of advanced production quality planning, design skills and design of experiments
  • Data collection / SPC
  • Must have a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skills
